Waddington offers a wide variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. The Waddington Recreation Commission offers swimming lessons at the Waddington Town Beach; figure skating, ice skating and youth hockey programs at Donald Martin Civic Center; aerobics, ballet and much more. Young children will enjoy the downtown playground overlooking the St. Lawrence River.

Waddington Town Beach
One of the most beautiful and well-kept town parks in northern New York, located right on the St. Lawrence River. The Waddington Town Beach offers a beach house, picnic facilities, swimming, outdoor basketball, a children’s play area and more. Great for family gathering or just a day at the beach!

Whitaker Park
Waddington has considerable recreational facilities available at Whitaker Park, fronting the St. Lawrence River, along State Route 37.  Visitors can enjoy outdoor tennis and basketball courts, softball and baseball diamonds, arena facilities at the Donald Martin Civic Center, a playground, a boat launch, fishing facilities, docks, picnic tables and grills.  Handicapped accessible.

Moore Historical Museum
Waddington’s heritage comes alive at the Moore Historical Museum on Main Street.  Artifacts, exhibits and documentation trace Waddington’s history from its earliest beginnings, through its transition during the St. Lawrence Seaway development era, to Waddington in the 21st century.  Visit during regular hours or by appointment.

Historical Sites
Waddington, once named "Hamilton" for America’s first Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton, has several historically significant sites, including Whitehouse Bay, location of the only Council of War ever held in the region; and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the oldest church building in all of northern New York.

Camping
Coles Creek State Park is located along the St. Lawrence River, four miles east of Waddington along Route 37, and 15 miles west of Massena. Enjoyable state campgrounds situated along the nation’s "Fourth Coast."

Biking and Jogging Trail

Snowmobiling
More than 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails are maintained for public use by the St. Lawrence County Snowmobile Association.

Sportsman’s Interests
The Waddington Sportsman’s Club sponsors several events each year, including those related to fishing and hunting.
